Receding Gum Treatment

Have you noticed your gums are receding away from your teeth? This is not just a cosmetic issue; it can be a symptom of gum or periodontal disease. Gum disease can lead to serious dental issues, including tooth loss, but it also can put you at higher risk for strokes, type 2 diabetes and other health problems. At Gold Hill Dentistry, we offer dental treatment for receding, bleeding or swollen gums to give you relief and to protect your oral and overall health.

The reason gums become swollen, recede and bleed easily is usually due to infection and irritation. When tartar accumulates on the teeth, it becomes a protective housing for bacteria. Not only does the tartar irritate the gum tissue, the bacteria can attack the tissue. This causes a reaction, usually red, swollen gums that bleed easily when you brush. To protect itself, the gum tissue recedes away from the tooth and source of irritation, leaving large gaps between the gums and teeth where more bacteria can grow and hide.

Relief for Bleeding or Swollen Gums

To get relief from infected gums that are bleeding, swollen and receding, deep cleanings are needed to remove all the plaque, tartar and bacteria from the teeth and around the gums. This can be performed by our dental hygienist at Gold Hill Dentistry. For those who are in the early stages of gum disease or have gingivitis, more frequent dental cleanings may be needed to help treat the infection and help restore the gum health. For more advanced levels of gum disease, there are other treatments that can be used to provide deeper cleanings and infection control to provide relief and oral health restoration.

If you have bleeding, swollen or receding gums, it is time to schedule a checkup and cleaning. Contact our team at Gold Hill Dentistry to schedule your next visit to start your treatment plan for receding gums.

"When I moved I tried another dental practice. Mistake. Now I drive an hour to still use Gold Hill Dentistry. Everyone from the administrative staff to the dentist are professional, kind, and good at what they do."

C.H.

"This was my first appointment with Gold Hill Dentistry so I didn’t exactly know what to expect. However prior to my visit I did google their reviews which were exceptional. That being said, my first visit certainly align with their online reviews! Gold Hill Dentistry’s staff were warm, professional but personable, and they made me feel very comfortable from the moment I entered their office and throughout the entire time services were performed. My cleaning results were great and my teeth and gums felt wonderful! I look forward to a long relationship with Gold Hill Dentistry!"

"As soon as you walk in you are greeted like family. Very clean, homie feeling office. Staff and Dr. Setty super friendly, kind and professional."

B.S.

"Gold Hill Dentistry is the absolute best! From the front desk, to the hygienists, to the doctor, they were all great. They bent over backwards to accommodate my special health situation and urgent scheduling needs. And the drilling/filling they did was the quickest and most painless I've ever had. Don't think twice about making them your new go-to for dental work."

C.I.

"Office Staff, dental hygienists, and the dentists are all wonderful. Always friendly, helpful, professional and excellent. With so many "doc in the box" dental centers popping up, Gold Hill is a welcome exception where personal service and attention matter. (I should mention too, that the service does not come at premium cost - they take insurance and their rates are competitive and reasonable). Highly recommend Gold Hill Dentistry."

V.K.

"I really like Gold Hill Dentistry. Everyone is very very friendly and helpful. They are really concerned about your care."
